5-Star DT Walter Nolen Michigan Official Tour

It’s no secret Michigan football has its sights set on a player above all others in 2022.

The defensive tackle continuing to be a position of need – despite having recruited three at the end of the 2021 recruiting cycle – securing a juggernaut in the middle is the top priority this year. And there is nothing better in 2022 than Cordova (Tennessee) St. Benedict in Auburndale five star Walter Nolen.

Nolen is courted by all the top schools in the country, which makes sense given that 247Sports considers him the No.2 player nationally, regardless of his position. Michigan has gained ground with the elite defensive lineman, having had their first unofficial campus visit some time ago, a few moments with the coaching staff at a satellite camp last month and on campus again for an official visit.

Celebrating Father’s Day in Ann Arbor, Nolen gave Michigan fans a glimpse of what it might look like if he donned the corn and blue – despite wearing the alternate uniform the Wolverines wore during the the opening of the 2017 season against Florida. Posing with his father, Nolen posted a photo to Twitter in these uniforms inside The Big House.

Although there are no 247Sports crystal ball predictions for the five-star
DT, it’s huge that he’s come back to Ann Arbor. After his visit to Gainesville, it emerged that Florida made more than a strong impression on him – he tweeted that he was ending his recruiting process at this point. He has made visits anyway, however, and a second visit to campus in recent months certainly can’t hurt Michigan’s chances.
