The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will return home after a two-game road trip. Georgia Tech and the Miami (FL) Hurricanes will square off in an ACC Battle at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday at historic Grant Field’s Bobby Dodd Stadium. The Yellow Jackets will strut after a win while Miami (FL) will stumble after a loss.
It was a close contest that could have gone either way, but Georgia Tech pulled off a 28-27 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies last week. QC Zach Pyron and RB Dontae Smith were among Georgia Tech’s leading playmakers as the former had a TD and 253 yards on 32 attempts in addition to rushing for a TD and 66 yards and the latter struck for a rushing touchdown. 56-yard touchdown shot from Pyron to WR Nate McCollum in the fourth quarter was one of the most memorable moments of the day.
Georgia Tech’s defense was also present, as they had one interception and three fumbles. comics Clayton Powell-Lee picked up that interception and then rubbed salt into the wound bringing it the other way for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the night started off rough for the Hurricanes last week, and it ended that way too. They suffered a crushing 45-3 loss at the hands of the Florida State Seminoles. Miami (FL) was in a difficult position at halftime, the score already at 31-3. QC Jacurri Brown didn’t really make a difference for Miami (FL); Brown threw an interception and fumbled the ball once with just 37 passing yards.
This next game should be close, with Georgia Tech starting just 1.5 points behind. Those who play the odds have seen things come and go with Georgia Tech, which is 4-4 ATS.
The loss to Miami (FL) brought them down to 4-5 while the victory over Georgia Tech brought them down to 4-5. Giving up four turnovers, Miami (FL) struggled to keep the ball. We’ll see if the Yellow Jackets can exploit this vulnerability.
