Two individuals were arrested and three were detained on Friday after Everman Police received information about a potential imminent threat at the Everman High School Homecoming Game.

The Everman Police Department said it received information from a Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office deputy about a person who was currently going to the game with the intention of using a firearm he obtained. earlier Friday.

A strong law enforcement presence already existed at the game; however, additional personnel were sent to assist.

Shortly after, Everman police observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on Race Street toward the Everman High School football stadium.

Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, which came to a stop at the stadium’s east gate entrance. Three people were arrested three from inside the vehicle and officers also recovered an AR pistol as well as a 60-round magazine.

“It is obvious that this individual was coming to do harm. The quick thinking and action of the Tarrant County Deputy who shared the information and the attentiveness and responsiveness of the officers who made the stop saved countless lives tonight.”

After the incident, there was no additional threat to those present at the game.
